Papers of W. B. MacMillan and his wife, Peggy, mainly related to their work in horticulture. These long-time residents of Abbeville, Louisiana were very active in the Louisiana Iris Society, the American Hemerocallis Society and other groups. The collection includes their cross-breeding journals for their work with Louisiana irises. There are also some letters and a collection of drawings of Caroline Dormon (1888-1971).

Caroline Dormon was born on July 19, 1888 to James Alexander Dormon and Caroline Trotti Sweat Dormon at their summer home (named Briarwood) near Saline, Louisiana. She attended Judson College in Marion, Alabama, and was a public school teacher for a short time.
